Spent a few hours this weekend making Christmas cards for the first time for my family and friends. I made two different designs — one, this adorable Santa face, courtesy of an online crafter who shared the design with her subscribers. I embossed Santa’s beard with my favorite folder, added chalk for the cheeks (applied with my finger) but otherwise created it very simply. All of these are cardstock cuts pieced together. It took 5 minutes to cute and 5 minutes to assemble.
Another one I made was from Cricut’s ‘make it now’ collection. You click on the link on Design Space, and it’s already created for you. You simply choose your paper, load your machine, and go. The red is die cut, and the white is a blank card I bought at Joann’s in a pack of 50 that included envelopes, as well.
I ran the red die cut cardstock through my Xyron to adhere it to the white card blank, used my Cricut to write a sentiment on the white cardstock interior, added some stickles on the front to make it glittery, then addressed the envelopes, and sent them off.
These were some fun and creative projects that I hope will mean a little more to my family and friends this year, with my first-ever created Christmas cards.
From my family to yours, have a very Crafty Christmas and a Happy New year!
